Philanthropy and Service

CASA

Kappa Alpha Theta chapters have the opportunity to create a signature philanthropy event that benefits Theta's international philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children. Each chapter donates a portion of their profits to either their local or national CASA and a portion to Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation and the Friendship Fund.

The Beta Gamma Chapter at CSU has the unique opportunity to work with Harmony House in Fort Collins; a supervised visitation and exchange program that provides a safe, home-like setting for supervised visits and exchanges between children and their family members. For more information about Harmony House visit their website: http://casalarimer.com/casa/casa-volunteers/

Friendship Fund

Since it was established in 1926, the Friendship Fund has been a tangible demonstration of the love and concern we feel for one another. It is based on a beautiful, timeless idea—sisters reaching out to sisters. The Friendship Fund provides gifts to Thetas experiencing extreme financial hardship due to serious or terminal illness, job loss, natural disaster, and other devastating occurrences. One very important aspect of the Fund is the secrecy surrounding the giving of gifts. Two members write on the behalf of a sister, and the Friendship Fund committee determines the award amount. The requesters remain anonymous, and all records are confidential.

Theta Foundation

Theta Foundation’s mission is to secure and manage resources for the educational, leadership, and philanthropic programs of the Fraternity and for the scholastic, professional, and service pursuits of its members to help them reach their fullest potential and make a difference in the world.

CASA Carnival

Kicks For CASA

This spring we held a carnival to raise money for the CASA. We had corn hole, volleyball, a puppy kissing booth, corn dogs, cotton candy and more!

In the Fall we held a kickball tournament to raise money for CASA. We had teams of all ages and pizza and shirts to go along with the fun day!

Our Commitment to Service

Supporting the community is a huge part of being a women of Kappa Alpha Theta. Since our chapter's re-establishment, we have actively been involved with various community service projects, individually and as a chapter. We cleaned up yards, fixed up the park, and helped out the elderly community with CSUnity. Our sisters also take time to participated in driving for RamRide, serving on Campus Corps, and volunteering for Relay For Life.
